How to - invites

These invitations are for my niece's pre-engagement party.
Here's how:
Supplies
Basic Grey patterned paper
Plain vellum
Flourish vellum
Mulberry flowers
Diamond brads
Matching envelopes
Basic Grey stitches rub ons
Xyron
Here's how:
  • Measure your envelope.
  • Cut your patterned paper slightly smaller than this.
  • In Microsoft Word set up a template for doing your invites. Make the template about 1 cm smaller than your patterned paper. Make sure you do a test run before you print out on vellum.
  • Cut your invites to size.
  • Tear rectangles of flourish vellum and run them through the Xyron.
  • Attach these to the back of the vellum invite to highlight any part you especially want noticed.
  • Layer the vellum invite on the patterned paper, make sure it is centred and then prick with a paper piercer.
  • Use a diamond brad to attach a flower to each invite.
  • Attach a strip of rub ons to your envelope. Further details follow.
  • Slip your invite in and seal your envelope.
  • Write the person's name on the front with scrolly handwriting.
  • Tear patterned paper strips about 2 inches x 1.5 inches.
  • Tear flourish vellum strips about 1 inch square.
  • Slip both through the Xyron and then layer the vellum over the patterned paper.
  • Attach to the back flap like a seal.

Here's how to apply rub ons:

  • Push the rub ons sheet up until you have exposed one row of rub ons.
  • On the back, rub on some of the rub on from the left edge of the envelope almost to the centre.
  • Then do the same from the right edge. You will be layering a seal over this so leave a space in the middle.
  • Use the left over rub on to add interest to the front of the envelope.
