- Matted the photo on a piece of coordinating Bazzill. I've part-matted it just to give a visual break from the background paper which is sooooooo busy!
- Continued to mat the photo until I had the width I wanted. I made sure I left one mat open at the top for a tag.
- Cut the bottom curved shapes. I cut two of the largest shape and then cut the second one in half to make three shapes. To cut the curve, I simply drew the curve on the largest shape using a coffee tin as a guide. Then I overlapped all three and cut them at once.
- I cut the top strip and journaling strip.
- I adhered all the pieces and then added the title that I had double matted using the Cricut machine.
To make the tag I:
- Cut a large, long piece of cardstock and folded it in half.
- I cut two coordinating pieces of cardstock, one slightly larger than the other.
- I matted one on the other, folding it under for stability and adhered this to the tag.
- I stapled on some ribbon and then used pop-dots to adhere the flower embellishment.
- The flower was cut using the Cricut. I cut a silhouette, a block flower and a tag.
- I journaled on the tag and slipped it behind the photo.
To make the flowers I used the Cricut machine to cut both silhouette flowers and shadow block flowers. The tag was also cut using the Cricut. Then it was simple to insert the brad through the pre-cut hole of all the elements and to adhere them to the layout. One flower is pop-dotted for dimension.
All of the flowers are curled over either a pencil or my fingers to give that sweet curvy look.
Lastly I hand-drew some flourishes and cut them out, embellishing them with some dots. A Xyron machine made these simple to adhere. I call these flourishes my own digi brushes!
There...done!
